I’m a New Yorker of 3 years and it’s great! Sometimes it’s nice to escape to greener pastures, but I always love coming back. I’ve recently graduated from university with a degree in International Management. I love foreign languages and cultures – I speak Italian fluently, some German, French, and Spanish if I need to get by, and enough Mandarin to have a conversation with a Chinese infant. I belong to the NYC Wine club and it’s awesome to go to tastings and events to learn more about wine. I also have a geeky side to me. One of my bigger hobbies is World of Warcraft – I play quite frequently and have an awesome group of people to “raid” with as well.
I’m constantly checking out cool new things related to my professional interest: Marketing. I am very curious about Web 2.0 and the power of the internet, its capabilities and tools. The variety of ways that people can connect with each other or other groups of similar interest and share all kinds of information in unique ways are fascinating. I believe that soon these social networks and people connecting tools will evolve into many, small yet specific, virtual groups where people can exchange more than just textual opinions or interesting videos or casts – these applications will have a more interactive feel where people of the community can better manipulate the information they receive and turn it into something more valuable for the community through collaboration with it. The ability to create something new, whether for profit or hobby, will be much easier than before.
My goal for this blog is for the experts, gurus, and fans of Web 2.0 to share what they know and love about this space to inform and educate the readership. Through collaboration and connection I think we can learn more as a group than individually.
Do you know something cool about Web 2.0 or on-line applications? Share it!
